Who Moved My Cheese? An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life

Hello All

So after much prodding from someone....yeah you know who you are....I have decided to update my xanga. Much has changed since my last entry so I will start out by saying I miss the South. Odd as that may sound it's true. There are just so many things that are very unquie to the region. 1) I would say the most noticable is the accent...in some ways I have lost it, but I issue this challenge; when I come home for the wedding in three weeks everyone really needs to help me gain it again. 2) The food, I miss flavorful food. The rummors of northern/midwesterners/yankees not liking spice food is not all true, but I do have to say that it is highly uncommon for people here to eat spicy/flavorful foods. I'm slowly warming my friends up to "cajun" food or at least my version of it in place of the all too comercialized Aplebee's genre of cajun foods. So far it has been a success, gumbo, jambelia, and crawfish eatfuee have gone over well. 3) The bigest thing I miss would definately have to be my family and friends. That being said I definately recomend that if you have the opertunity you should see the country, not necessarily all at once, but if a career comes along that would allow you to move, go for it! There are times that I'm home sick, but luckly my job allows me to come home twice a year to see everyone. To all that read this there is a great chance that I have some awesome memories of you which I am so thankful of, even if I don't always let you know. Throughout all of our busy schedules I really do hope/wish/desire to stay in-touch as we all begin our lives in the "real world" which is a great place to be.

And now onto more news.....

I am currently in the process of buying my first house. I found this great house in Dubuque which is about 25 miles north of Bellevue and should be closing on or before July 5th. Its a three bedroom two bath with a finished basement/family room that has a fireplace, a fenced backyard for the puppy and a deck. See below picture...I have some work to do on the inside to those pictures will soon follow.

Well hmmm...all I can think of now is that I will be back in Louisiana on June 21st throught July 3rdis.

I hope yall are doing great and hopefully I will see ya in a few weeks.

Well Hello:

It has been quite some time since I have updated. I will start with what I'm most excited about and that is coming home for Christmas. Rockwell is great we get 12 days of paid holiday vacation time for Chrsitmas. My plan at this point is to leave my house on Monday evening and first stop in Ruston for a day or so. Depending on when I leave Monday I should be rolling into Ruston anywhere from 12 noon to 6PM on Tuesday the 20th. For anyone who will be in town I would really like to get together and hang out on Tuesday...so if you are going to be in town please let me know.

On to other news....same old thing not a lot to report with the acception of a foot or more of snow on the ground. I guess thats all for now. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year's as well.

SNOW!!!

Yes the picture is a bit dark, but its snow! Chance (my dog) doesn't quite know what to think of the snow....at least he is quick about his outside business. Just remember don't eat the yellow snow.... I'm sure there will be much more snow in the near future so until then.

SNOW!!!

It's snowing in the greater Midwest. The unfortunate thing is that tomorrow it will most likely be ice.

The latest news from Iowa:

Mother has come and gone. She was here for about 10 days to visit so of course a trip to Chicago was in order. Among the other mass adventures we had the chance to stop and visit the Sears Tower, Wrigley Field and Navy Pier in between occurances of getting lost.

Tomorrow the Bellevue facility is host a meeting for industrial engineers and industrial engineer techs to discuss current production issues in the Iowa Regional sites. And the day after there will be an offsite staff meeting for most of the day....and a plethora of meeting to come next week. It's very interesting to be thrown right into the mix of thing...

Next week the big adventure to Cali happens and my dad and step mom will be flying out as well....and then it's almost Christmas time and time for my great two week exodus from the cold Midwest, back home to Louisiana. I will definitely be making a pit stop in Ruston on my way back down.

I do believe that's all I have to report for know.

WORD

Sunday, October 16, 2005

So now I am finally getting around to updating. Heres to you Jess I'm updating. Lets see new news....not too much going on here. The weather is changing dramatically. This morning i woke up to get ready for church and to take the dog out and guess what there was frost on the ground and on the roof. The thermometer called it at 34, needless to say I'm in for an adventure when it snows or really anytime it drops below 30. Slowly I've started to pick up golf. Last weekend I was able to play in a four man best shot, which was really fun.

My dad and step mom were supposed to be here this weekend, but unfortunately my dad hurt his back really back so their trip got cancelled. Alittle disappointing but I will be back for nearly two weeks at Christmas time so there will be plently of time to see everyone. My mom on the otherhand is coming up next month and then I'm going to California for Thanksgiving to visit my aunt.

Not much less to report....life in the Midwest currently consists of work, running, and church. I didn't think it would be nearly as hard to start over, but its an adventure.
